Indian citizen. Married a Malaysian man in 1992. 3 children. Husband died in 2001 because of sepsis. Youngest daughter died in 2003 in an accident. Had been staying all the while in Malaysia on social visit pass. Could not work on a social visit pass. No financial help for the children's studies since the mother is not a Malaysian citizen. Government denied a citizenship after the husband died. Wrote to Immigration. Case is being considered now by the Immigration. Waiting for a reply from immigration.

Worker with heart problem. In the process of applying for a Social Security Organisation's pension.
Case No. 012
Had been staying in a house for the past 30 years. The house was built by his father. The land belongs to the government. Had been applying for the land since 1990. Last year, the same piece of land were sold to someone else by government. In the risk of his house being demolished by the new owner. Applied to the government for a new piece of land. Waiting for an answer.
Bertam Valley Farmers
A new road linking Cameron Highlands and Kuala Lipis is being build. 43 farmers will be effected when their farm (whole or a part) is taken for the project. Applied to the government for a replacement land to do farming. Waiting for an answer. The local politician promised to give a solution by 3rd October 2006. But he failed. The land clearing machines
have entered almost all the farms. Unfortunately the farmers are not organised.
We tried to call for a meeting to discuss this several times, but in vain. Now,
we are waiting for the farmers to get more organised.

labour office. Still waiting for a reply from the labour office. Case

Odd job worker. Applied a piece of land (3 acre) for farming on 20th October 1984. Still waiting for a reply. His house is also involved in the Cameron Highlands to Kuala Lipis road project.
Case No. 027
His shop-house is on government's land. Had been there for the past 44 years. Recently, a part of the land is being taken by the government for school project. But the school is located 200 meters away. And all the houses in his area are not affected. Wrote to the authorities. Waiting for a reply.
Royal Lily Apartments, Block A
New bistro which was opened in the residential area is causing havoc for the residents. Complained to the authorities.
First letter did not yield any result. A second letter was mailed on 3rd October 2006.
Case No. 029
Came to Malaysia to work in farms. Cheated by employer by not paying him the
wages amounting to RM14,400. Filed a case in Ipoh High Court.
Case No. 030
Primary school teacher. Being transferred to another nearby school. 70 parents are opposing the transfer order.
We wrote to the authorities. Waiting for a reply. The teacher
subsequently received a warning letter from the Education Department accusing her of using the parents to oppose her transfer. She decided to abide
by the transfer order. Case closed.

Widowed mother with 3 children after
husband passed away in December 1997. Second son has a major medical
problem and third son has serious learning difficulties. We facilitated a
consultation with a child psychology doctor on 25th October 2006.
